Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a kind of semiconductor ceramic materials made by adding appropriate dopants into the main crystalline phase. It has the characteristics of excellent nonlinear coefficient, wide pressure-sensitive voltage range (from a few tenths of volts to tens of kilovolts), small voltage temperature coefficient, fast time response and small leakage current. The main raw material is zinc oxide, and the dopants include bismuth oxide, cobalt oxide, strontium oxide, titanium oxide, etc. It is manufactured by general electronic ceramic process. It can be used to manufacture voltage stabilizing elements and overvoltage protection elements in high-voltage circuits (such as low-voltage varistors in integrated circuits), and can also be used as lightning arresters.
